Our pupil council have been working hard to contribute to the schools ongoing self evaluation. They created a film to tell teachers how they can work in partnership to improve learning and teaching.
Our film was presented at the February Inset day. As a result of watching our film, the teachers thought more about how they could better involve us in talking about learning and teaching. We can help them to teach us better and we can learn better.
Our pupil council asked their peers what would help make playtimes better. We noticed some children were bored at breaks and lunch times and this impacted their behaviour and friendships. We agreed to buy some new play equipment and people say they are having a lot more fun now!
Our Pupil Council asked their peers what would help make breaktimes better. Some children said they felt lonely when they didn't have someone to play with. So we relaunched the friendship bench. If you don't have someone to play with, you can sit on the bench and someone will come and ask you to play. It's our right to have fun, play and rest and we can work together to make sure everyone upholds these rights.
Our pupil council consulted all the children in school to ask them if they had a magic wand, what activities would they like to take part in at school. It's everyone's right to join groups and develop our interests. Our results were shared with staff who have led groups such as coding, guitar club, dance clubs, robotics, football, reading and choir.
