We had a fantastic sports day! Miss Fitzpatrick was very proud of our lovely manners and good sportsmanship!
We have been focusing on the skill 'empathy' and have been trying to imagine what life would be like as a Pharaoh. We wrote a story about "A day in the life of King Tut" and enjoyed discussing how different our lives would be from his.
We have been so busy in numeracy! We have been learning about fractions and exploring fractions in different contexts. We can find equal parts of a whole, find equivalent fractions and much more.
We have been really enjoying learning about Ancient Egypt! We made our own cartouches using clay, turned our friends into mummies and created our own pyramids.

March 2025
This term, we have been learning about how to write a leaflet. We used our knowledge of Stirling, which links to our current topic, and created our own tourist leaflet to share information. We know that leaflets need clear headings, interesting pieces of information and eye-catching pictures.
We have been working so hard in numeracy and we are showing real confidence using our division strategies. We can use skip counting, grouping or sharing.
We enjoyed lots of fun activities to celebrate World Book Day! We wrote character descriptions of our favourite book characters, designed our own book marks and tried really hard during this symmetry task to complete the other half of Mr Fox's face!
February 2025
We are really enjoying our class novel 'Fantastic Mr Fox' which is linked to our topic. We had fun creating Wanted posters to help the farmers catch Mr Fox!
We have been busy learning a variety of strategies to help us with multiplication, such as arrays, grouping, repeated addition and skip counting.
We have also started learning how to use the Chromebooks. We are gaining confidence when logging on independently, and we are really enjoying using sumdog to practise new skills that we have learnt in class.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break! It has been lovely to see everyone settled back into school and we have had a very busy start to 2025!
We enjoyed learning our Scots poems Twa-Leggit Mice and Scottish Rain. Well done to everyone who performed one of the poems in front of the whole class, Miss Fitzpatrick was very impressed! A special well done to KM who came first place and EM who was runner up for the class.
In PE, we have been very excited to start gymnastics! We will be learning about balancing, rolls, travelling and jumping. We have been most excited to use the climbing frame to develop our balancing skills.
We spent three afternoons in the gym hall taking part in the Rookie Rockstars programme. We learned a variety of fun songs and actions that promoted important messages such as anti-bullying and friendship. Well done to MM who won the Rookie Rockstars poster competition!
It has been another extremely busy term in P3F!
We hope everyone has a lovely Christmas break and a well deserved rest. We look forward to seeing everyone again in the new year!
What a fabulous Christmas Book launch! We learned about so many different things before writing our Christmas story including sentence starters, speech marks, question marks, adjectives, and so on.
There has been so much hard work put into these this term and we were so excited to show them off! Thank you to everyone who came along and left such positive feedback.
We had lots of fun performing our Nativity for all our families. We hope you enjoyed it!
For 4 weeks, we completed daily reading with P6K and we got a sticker each day to show our progress. We loved having a reading buddy and we were very excited to bring home our completed sticker chart at the end of the month! We also gave our buddies a pen to say thank you for all their hard work and kindness.
We have had a busy start to Term 2!
We had so much fun visiting the Macrobert Centre to watch the Panto. We loved singing and dancing along to all the songs!
We have been loving our weekly music lessons with our music specialist Mrs Kirk. We are learning how to recognise and copy different rhythms. We are also learning how to play an ascending and descending scale on the glockenspiel or xylophone.
We have been learn a variety of addition and subtraction strategies. We can use these to become more confident with our mental maths ability.
We have been very busy writing our Christmas books. We learned the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff and then changed it to create our own Christmas story. We are so excited to show you our amazing finished books at the Sharing the Learning event.
P3F have been learning about lots of different things this term including A Bear Called Paddington, 3D Shapes! We have also been exploring how we can make ourselves feel "Just Right" when we are experiencing different emotions by doing some really fun Anywhere Body Breaks!
We have been reading "A Bear Called Paddington" which we have used to help us learn about our Children's Rights and practice our reading and understanding skills. We have created a Picasso-style art-piece on the character of Paddington by using different shapes and colours.
P3F have been exploring 3D shapes. We created 3D shapes using nets, this has helped us to explore our corners, sides and faces.
We have also been learning about tessellation and describing what this looks like in real-life contexts.
We have been practicing colourful semantics which help us to include who. what, where, when and doing in our sentences. We have also been practicing our finger spaces, capital letters and full stops.

We are settling well into Primary three and we can't wait to share all of our learning with you throughout this year.
In the first week of school we created our Class Charter! We read the story 'The Day the Crayons Quit' and discussed what rules we thought it was important to have in our classroom to ensure that everyone is ready, respectful and safe.
We are so lucky to have a P.E specialist this term, Mr Shearer. We have been focusing on different ball skills and we are enjoying getting outside when the weather is nice.
P3F are loving the new trim trail that has been built on the field. We have been discussing how to assess risk, wait our turn and how to stay safe.
