Numeracy

S1 Pupils have been busy this week taking part in a Sumdog Competition. Sumdog is an online practice and assessment tool that uses games-based learning to improve numeracy fluency and all pupils have log in details to use this to practice their numeracy skills anytime. The winners in this week's competition were Pahulveer Singh and Molly Burns. Massive Well done to them!

We have also introduced Numeracy in registration for both S1 and S2. The pupils are taking part in a Numeracy Intervention programme called Numeracy Ninjas which is designed to fill gaps in pupils' basic mental calculation strategies. The tool also empowers them with the essential numeracy skills and helps to improve their numeracy fluency. The pupils are eagerly working through their booklets to become black belts!

In addition to this, S6 Numeracy ambassadors have also been helping out in our S1 and S2 classes, giving support to pupils who struggle with some key numeracy skills. The S6 Ambassadors have also been helping out at the S1 homework club!
