In S1-3, pupils will enhance their conversational and transactional skills. This is done through exploring different topic areas to allow each pupil to express opinions and boost their communication skills in Reading, Writing, Listening and Talking. These topics include Self & Others; My Local Area; School; Technology; The Environment; Health & Sport.
Senior Phase Modern Languages
At St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School we offer SQA courses in Senior Phase from National 3 – Advanced Higher across both French and Spanish. This provides progression routes to Further Education upon leaving school.
We also offer the Languages for Life & Work Award at levels 3/4 in S3-4. This course further develops pupil communication skills in discussing their own employability as well as highlighting transactional language which can be used in practical situations abroad.
