Refreshing Honesty From The Gay And Lesbian Medical Association

by

Wayne Lela

The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, on its website, offers two surprisingly informative documents (note---this article was written in October 2009):

One, "Top 10 Things Gay Men Should Discuss with their Healthcare Provider"; and the other, "Top 10 Things Lesbians Should Discuss with their Healthcare Provider."

Three quotes from the former:

1) "[M]en who have sex with men are at an increased risk of HIV infection....[T]he last few years have seen the return of many unsafe sex practices."

2) "Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) occur in sexually active gay men at a high rate. This includes...syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, pubic lice,...Hepatitis A, B, or C virus, Human Papilloma Virus, etc."

3) "Gay men may be at risk for death by prostate, testicular, or colon cancer....[And there are] increased rates of anal cancers in gay men."

Two quotes from the latter:

1) "Lesbians have the richest concentration of risk factors for breast cancer than any subset of women in the world."

2) "Lesbians have higher risks for many of the gynecologic cancers."

Medical researchers have known for years that the homosexual lifestyle, because it is clearly physiologically unnatural, is a relatively unhealthy and disease-ridden one. It is also relatively costly, from a financial (not to mention human) standpoint. (For example, the Washington Blade, a homosexual newspaper, ran an article on August 28, 2009, titled "Gay, bi men 50 times more likely to have HIV." And HIV/AIDS is an expensive disease to treat.) Moreover, competent ethicists can explain why it is an immoral lifestyle. (It's obviously a bad legal precedent, too, as there are all kinds of other consenting-adult, sexually aberrant people out there---e.g., exhibitionists---who would like their "rights.")

However, important facts and persuasive moral arguments don't seem to matter to the Obamas of the world, who, for example, want to saddle the military with more health care problems (by repealing "Don't ask, don't tell" and allowing open homo/bisexuals in), plus saddle our country in general with all the burdens connected to this relatively unhealthy, costly, and unethical lifestyle.

Assuming the truth ultimately will win out, let's just keep communicating facts and keep telling the truth. Sooner or later, we'll be vindicated. (Considering how misguided so many gullible liberals and moderates are, however, it could be awhile.)
