Waste-WAG
Technical choices are a fundamental step in sanitation planning, they will determine the sanitation system that will be installed. If the latter does not meet the needs and constraints of the actors, the system will not be adapted, which will lead at best to many additional costs for its maintenance and at worst to its abandonment. Technical choices require expertise to be relevant.
The objective of WasteWAG (acronym of WasteWater Game) is to allow a consultation of the various actors/parties involved in the sanitation service on the technical choices that define this service. It is therefore a question of providing both the elements of knowledge to enable an informed discussion during the choices, as well as a framework within which these discussions can take place. WasteWAG has been built to highlight a number of sanitation issues. Its use does not replace extensive technical studies in the intervention area, but rather complements these studies to raise questions and ensure that all issues have been considered.
WasteWAG has been developped by Irstea teams from UMR G-Eau Montpellie and UR Reversaal (Epure) Lyon. It has been finalized and experimented in Senegal during the project PLANISSIM in collaboration with Acted.
