KWV Cafe Culture Pinotage 2009

I was intrigued by this "new" wine by KWV. It seems to be directed at a new and younger crowd, and the label definitely breaks away from the traditional. This Pinotage is still very young, and I have not yet seen the Platter rating of the wine.

Upon smelling this wine, it has quite a strong nose, with a very potent coffee smell, but not really much else. My first impressions of the wine was that the coffee smell and taste was a bit much. Initially this coffee taste really overwhelm pretty much everything else. After letting the wine have ample time to breathe, the strong coffee aromas subsided a bit and the wine was more enjoyable, even letting some berries come through.
