Kaapzicht Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Kaapzicht comes on very strong on the nose, with oak and red fruit and lust berries. Deep red with an amber rim in colour. I tasted this long after tasting the 2004 vintage of the same wine, and the smooth silkiness I originally tasted in the '04 was even more profound in this. The ample tannins in this has mooted over even more, and the extremely concentrated flavours of berries and oak, along with the very long tail, struck deep into my heart. This is another passionate wine made by Kaapzicht, and a knock-out that will be remembered long after tasting.
