Casa Silva Carmenere Reserva 2008 (Chile)
From the Colchagua valley in Chile, close to Santiago, comes this spectacular version of the Carmenere varietal. Red with a pink rim in colour. On the nose this has some spice, some chocolate and plumminess. On the palate this is continued, with black berries, plum and spice, and a very good balance of tannins with acidity. This is quite soft and silky, and can be drank pretty much anytime (or should I say ALL the time?). A medium tail of berries.
Tasted September 2010
