Diemersfontein Carpe Diem Malbec 2007

Slightly oaked, slightly spicy on the nose, with some cherry smells following later. As this is my first taste of a malbec, the initial taste was unfamiliar territory. Less spicy than a shiraz, a little bit of alcohol and some wild fruit. Some oak flavours and wild cherry, moderately tannic. Very pleasant, and a good introduction into the malbec varietal!
