Viking Volunteers is an SBHS club founded upon the ideas of assistance and generosity; every year, our goal as a club is to have a meaningful impact on our community through outreach and volunteerism. We want to expose students to the benefits and environment of volunteering, and through this club, we hope to show you how much of a bond can form between volunteers for the same cause, as well as how much you can grow as an individual just by extending your hand even slightly to someone in a more difficult situation. Volunteering inevitably offers you a sense of purpose and confidence, and more often than not gains you the experiences and skills you may need in applications and the workforce. It allows you to develop your social skills, as it forces you to interact with a wide variety of people you normally might not strike up a conversation with. Continually being involved with our club and the opportunities we offer you will allow you to indulge in the benefits of offering your hand to others, and hopefully let you see that there's another way to look at volunteering besides simply "work." We hope to offer opportunities that you can connect with and grow from, and eventually see a further purpose.
