Saint Log
Saint Log by Ian Dickerson
The Saint
This is an attempt to clarify the Saint's adventures on radio. There
are a lot of episodes in circulation, mainly from the Price era, and
some of these shows are circulating under various titles. What follows
is a basic log; transmission date against the offical title. Official
title? All titles are obtained from the "as broadcast" scripts, and as
such I think they qualified to be called official. Alternative titles,
and their sources where known, are also listed.
There is more. I am working on a full listing of cast and credits, as
well as an article telling the story behind the shows. If you want to
know more, or have any corrections, amendments or suggestions, please
feel free to contact me.

Saint Log by Charles Laughlin
A COMPASSIONATE
LOG OF THE SAINT
by
Charles Laughlin
[Updated 30 September 1996]
Here is a partial log of only the available episodes of THE SAINT. No
attempt is made here to list episodes not available to collectors from
our beloved vendors.
This has been very much a team effort. I wish to acknowledge the
valuable assistance of Steve Finkelstein, Arlene Osborne, Jack Mann
and Randy Minnehan in bringing this project this far. Thanks also to
Ted Davenport of Radio Memories for supplying much needed material.
Every OTR collector's good friend, Frank Passage, shared a partial log
he had started some time ago, but was unable to complete due to the
lack of the official script titles. I especially want to thank Ian
Dickerson of the Saint Club for his generous help in providing the
crucial official script titles, dates and other information. We all
look forward to his biography of Leslie Charteris due out sometime in
1997.
Each episode is listed first in chronological order, and then
alphabetically under the official script title, followed in
parentheses by alternate titles as sold by various vendors. There
follows the date of broadcast and the star who played Simon Templar.
There is still some confusion about whether some of the available
early episodes were the CBS versions, or the later repeats on MBS.
I call this a "compassionate" log because it gives the opening scene
and dialogue for each episode for aid in identification. Just listen
to the first moments of your tape and you should be able to match up
the correct script title.
These are all the episodes I have in my collection. If you have any I
don't have, let's swap and I will add them to the log. I will put
this log on my own homepage
(http://www.carleton.ca/~claughli/index.html) and will update it in
the future as (hopefully) further episodes become available.
