Engine torque is transferred from the engine crankshaft to the two-mass flywheel and on to the internal or the hollow shaft of the transmission, depending on which clutch is engaged. The layout of the gearbox is shown below:
The diagram below shows the torque flow for 1st gear:
The odd gears 1, 3, 5, 7 are engaged via clutch 1, the even gears 2, 4, 6 and reverse are engaged via clutch 2.
Output shaft fixed gears 1 and 2 are rigidly connected to the respective output shafts. The gears 1-7 & reverse are idler gears that can be connected to the respective output shaft by synchronisation devices.

2 Clutch Control Valves
