There is a lot that one could say about Gordon Murray. He considers himself lucky to have been at the right place at the right time. However the reality is that he risked almost everything when emigrating from his native South Africa, struggling to find a job amidst a big recession, then burning the midnight oil at Brabham for 17 years. He is now recognised for the design of many championship winning Formula One cars and also for his supercars that blew Ferrari and Lamborghini in the weeds.
Some inspiring and funny words from him and Bob Wallace:
G.M. "what I did was try to exorcise the bad things that supercars were well known for (pedal offsets, visibility etc)"
B.W. "so anyway, 391 is quite fast, isn't it?" (while driving the XP car at Ehra Lessien at 391 km/h!)
