At RML Chris has been involved with testing the bespoke software running on a Motec M150 ECU to carry out accurate distance and speed control of two Audi e-Tron cars that would set the pace for Eliud Kipchoge in his 1:59 challenge.
Kipchoge had attempted the Marathon distance under 2 hours in 2017 during the Nike Breaking 2 attempt but humid conditions in Monza and some inaccuracies in car pacing meant he crossed the line in 2:00:25.
On the 12th October 2019 however he managed an unbelievable 1:59:40 thanks to exceptional training, the best pace runners, better weather conditions and of course a really precise pair of pace cars!
