Chris worked on software development of diesel engine ancillaries control for the Ford Focus and Mondeo Euro6 cars (launched in 2014). The Delphi system comprised of an electronic engine controller (ECU), software developed in Simulink and deployed to C code and Tricore target, injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump.
The project comprised co-operative design work between Ford, Delphi and Bosch. The Focus and Mondeo cars won worldwide awards for drivability, power and economy in the 1.8 to 2.0 litre turbodiesel category.
All software development followed development V-cycle from requirements capture, through to implementation, unit testing, lab/Hardware-In-Loop testing and eventual sign-off.
