Most T’chuck T’chi who inhabit Udan maintain their traditional role of nomadic herders. They have been generally confined to the hills and surrounding regions of the nation – with access given to rivers and lakes at certain points. This balance between the agricultural regions of Udan and the herders has become extremely tenuous since the Vassalage agreement, with weekly reports of Nomadic clans ignoring the traditional boundaries in favor of better pasturage, regardless of the current owner.
To say that tensions are high would be an understatement.
The Overseer is a high Clan Chief appointed to collect the yearly silver tribute of the Udan nation for the Grand Khagan in Bator. The rest of the year, he and his personal staff (mostly relatives from his patrilineal clan) party and go on ‘hunting’ expeditions.
The Overseer has been overthrown in Udan, igniting open warfare between the Udani and the T'chuck T'chi. The Lord of the Wolf Clan, Ogenchi Batu has invaded the western provinces, sacking the western Udani capital of Kulang (Now commanded by subaltern Chengudai) and seizing virtually all Udani controlled territory in the area.
Refugees have begun to overwhelm all of the eastern provinces, causing a general breakdown in law and order, and opening the door for disease and starvation come spring when the food stores are exhausted.
The Udani High King Deng called a Loya Jerga (Grand Council) of the Nobility resulting in a signing of the Charter of Concordance, in which all High Houses and Clans pledged their support to the High King in the endeavor to retake the east, agreeing to share costs and to raise local levys to help restore security. This has resulted in a general conscription and impressment to fill out the Army and Navy - mostly falling on the Refugees.
In addition, the grand Patriarch of Guran has announced it is the duty of all Urdur to resist the evil of the Necromancy using T'chuck T'chi, forming the Ordus Reconquista open to all faithful.
A hundred keels have been laid, new regiments are forming, and all of Udan lies poised to march on the invading horde.
