Born Simon Barthalemew Clark in Higginsville Missouri on September 8, 1974. John and Mary Clark were happy to finally have a son after the four girls. From the time he could stand, Simon protected his older sisters and helped with the farm. Growing up in a rural, political, religious family, Simon never doubted that there were things in the world which he didn’t understand and God kept it that way for a reason. The paranormal wasn’t a topic common in the house.
As a gifted child, Simon received good grades and made honor role several times. He was also in the Boy Scouts for nearly three years prior to high school. In high school, he joined the football team, wrestling and AV and car clubs. As class president, year book photographer and home coming court member, he was very popular.
For spare pocket money during his summer vacations, Simon worked on phone lines, computers, tractors and other vehicles for his neighbors. He mowed lawns, cleaned gutters and pools and trimmed trees too.
Simon graduated a year early, but at 17, the United States couldn’t recruit a minor into the Armed Forces. Disappointed, Simon began learning about the technology of the new 20th century United States military at home by familiarizing himself with all the technology he could get his hands on or look up. He also learned several languages on the side, Aramaic being the hardest to find material for. At 18, he was finally recruited into the service. Simon provided technical support to those in Iraq, Kuwait and Afganistan.
Simon trained to fly the now declassified Reaper unmanned drones and as his first mission, flew a mission in Iraq from the comfort of base in Langley. Simon rose in the Air Force and he began to get attention from special groups within the government. (MQ-9 Reaper, sensors and 10.5 million dollars each, 28 reportedly produced… so called Hunter-Killers) He moved from base to base, Langley, McChord, McConnell, Al Asad Air Base Baghdadi, just to name a few.
Meanwhile, running a farm in the 1990’s was very difficult, but the Clarks had a great community and support. In 1993, John had his first heart attack and with Simon in the force and the girls supporting their own families and no longer into farming, the family farm had to close. After John recovered, he started working in the mill, with help from friends in town.
In 2005, Simon was recruited into a ‘think tank’ for a secret branch of the government, the ATF (Simon was told that it stood for Anti Terrorism Force, which made perfect sense). As one of the brightest minds in the service, the ATF hoped to use Simon to help reverse engineer, what he was told, was a new North Korean weapon. This piece of alien tech was some form of memory modification device which enhances the aggression centers of the human brain. Something happened and Simon was wounded and afflicted. He lost a portion of his memory and underwent several years of therapy, and with medication, the doctors said he should be able to live in society.
RECORDS HAVE BEEN LOCKED AND EVEN SIMON CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING FROM THIS PERIOD.
In 2007, some time in May, Simon was released from military service with future expenses and medical to be paid in full; recreational and travel not included. Traveling abroad was not recommended by the doctors.
Simon returned home for his father’s funeral and stayed in town for his mother and sisters for several months. Now quick to temper and unfamiliar to the family, Simon felt unwelcome and left home again.
Simon took this time to reflect on the time in the facility. He has strange and scattered memories dealing with bright lights, high pitched voices and loud metal doors. His dreams, off meds, are quite frightening. He is currently researching particular medications he has been assigned. He is trusting them less and less.
Recently and for reasons unknown to Simon, he was hired, without even applying, by this British television executive called Nigel for a position as a location scout for this reality television show called Ghost Hunters. This ‘wizard’ has a lot of strange ideas about the world and Simon sees no reason to believe anything this man says. He saw several loonies worse than Nigel in the facility at Langley. This poor bastard acts like Harry Dresden more than Harry Potter, then again, he IS British. Recently, we spent a week in First Centuary American South West. During this time, Simon discovered that, without the combination of medications had been suppressing some form of natural talent for magic.
