On July 15 Mark Marussich was our official for the day. He was assisted by his daughter Catherine. The wind was out of the southwest as six Lightinings and three Snipes competed. Due to a storm that blew in just as race one ended there was no second race. In the Lightining Fleet, Rich Miner with crew Gail Miner and Ken Potts finished first, followed by Chuck Chute and crew Dave Newton second and Perry Anderson with Margaret Anderson and Shirley Miller crewing third. Two Snipes went head to head with John Marx in first and Constance Gill and crew Angela Hopkins second.

The following Sunday, July 22, brought nice wind out of the southwest and our race officials, the Andersons, set a long course that allowed for some good spinnaker reaches. Rich Miner, with Gail Miner and Ken Potts on board as crew managed two firsts in the Lightnign Fleet with Chuck Chute and crew Dave Newton in second place followed by Don Okner with crew Ed Snook and Michael Mackey third in both races. Three Snipes competed in one race with John Marx coming in first followed by Constance Gill and Angela Hopkins in a close second and Tim Mackey and Christopher Mackey third.

The Mutiny Regatta, an annual favorite when crew members take command of boats and subjugate their skippers to crewing, was scheduled for July 28, 2012 had to be canceled. As it turned out, afternoon thunderstorms would have dempened the event, nonetheless. Hopefully, next year will bring better luck. Constance Gill, the Oldridges and the Potts family put a lot of effort into this one.

Rich Miner was our race official on July 29. The wind was variable out of the northeast for the one race that was held. Rich had to shorten the course to an olympic for the Lightnings and after good spinnaker run in the fifth leg, Don Okner and crew Ed Snook lead the way to the finish line only to be overtaken in the last 100 yards by Perry Anderson and crew Margaret Anderson and Ali Brown. Hank Jelinek and crew Adam Anea followed in third place. In the Snipe Fleet, John Marx took another first with Constance Gill and crew Angela Hopkins second. Tim Mackey and crew Christopher Mackey were a DNS but sailed the course. Alex Fox wnet out in a Sunfish and sailed the course.
