April was our month to get things ready for sailing. On April 17^th we will had a Clean-up day and our Prep Signal Party was held on April 24^th at the Lake Mohawk Country Club. The party provided a good setting to meet new members and for us to regroup as a club for 2010. We are hoping to have the best year ever both racing on the lake and at social gatherings.

Remember, racing begins on May 16^th and continues until mid-October, with two races scheduled every Sunday. Lightnings will have a Spring Series and a Fall Series while Snipes will have one, combined Series. Sippers and crew start to gather at 12:00 noon with the start of racing at 1:00 pm.

Our first open regatta will be the Gabor Cup on May 30^th. Regattas are open to all LMCC members with sailboats of any kind. Why not join us to experience racing first hand? You just may get “bitten by the bug” and decide to become a LMYC member so that you can race every weekend.

Registration for our Junior Sailing Program began on April 15^th for LMYC members and will begin on May 3rd for non-members. You need only be a LMCC member to apply. Registration forms and further information are available on our website at lmycsailing.org. Program inquiries can be directed to LMYCinfo@gmail.com, and the program phone number is 973-512-8867. Space is limited so sign up early.
