In little more than a month, we will shove off on our 2013 voyge of activities. Here's a tentative schedule (dates and events subject to change):

* Clean Up Day – April 20 with rain date of April 21

* Prep Signal Party– April 20

* Mast Raising and Cinco de Mayo Party– May 4

* First Day of Racing – May 19

* Gabor Cup Regatta and Makani Party – June 9

* Independence Day Family Party – TBD (to coincide with the LMCC fireworks display)

* Marine Base Regatta – July 7

* Mutiny Regatta – July 27

* Jack Robertson Day – August 10

* Commodore’s Cup Regatta and Party – September 1

* Finish Line Party – October 26

* Awards Banquet – December 1

Anyone in the LMCC who owns a sailboat is invited to sail with us in any of our three, open regattas. You can race any type of sailboat that you may own because the regattas are handicapped using the Portsmouth yardstick. But even better, why not get a Snipe, a Lightining or a Laser, join our club and enjoy racing every weekend.

Also make note of the announcements in the Papoose for our Junior Sailing School. The sailing school is extremely popular and enrollment is limited. We also will be offering adult and individual sailing lessons for those who are interested. And, if you are looking for a great gift for a sailor or for yourself, to help raise funds for the Junior Sailing Program, Haley Chute had bags made from sails. They are available at Cathy Chute's Lake Mohawk Flower Shop in the plaza

You can visit us on the web at www.lakemohawksailing.org. For more information about membership in the LMYC or, if you want to learn to sail, just call our Vice Commodore, Perry Anderson at (973)729-3904, email us at lakemohawksailing@gmail.com or write to us care of PO Box 29, Sparta, NJ 07871.

Until next month, smooth sailing

and God bless America!
