June 2016 Papoose Article

Post date: May 12, 2016 11:43:20 PM

The Prep Signal Party held on April 30th at the Miners' home was a great way to regroup with members and crew for 2016. There was plenty of food and drink that made the event even more enjoyable. Gail and Rich are terrific hosts and we sincerely thank them for opening up their home and making all of us feel most welcome. On May 14th we had Mast Raising followed by the Cinco de Mayo Party and racing began on May 22nd. More details will follow in next month's Papoose.

Our first regatta, the Gabor Cup Regatta, will take place on June 5th. This is open to all LMCC members, with a sailboat of any kind. Following the regatta we will hold our Makani [Hawaiian for wind] Party. Our annual Family Barbecue will be on July 4th to coincide with the LMCC fireworks. And, our next open regatta, the Marine Base Regatta, is scheduled for July 10th.

This is the last call for the Lake Mohawk Yacht Club Junior Sailing Classes. The program is open to LMCC Members only. Students must be age 10 and above. The is very popular program and there is limited space. Hopefully there is still a chance to register your child.
