On May 7th we raised our masts and began preparing for our first races on May 15th. Following the mast raising, there was a Cinco de Mayo Party at the home of Margaret and Perry Anderson.

The following updated schedule of the other events for 2011 is provided so that you can mark your calendars and make your plans:

· May 29th Gabor Cup Regatta at the LMYC with registration beginning at 1200 hours (that's 12:00 noon for landlubbers) and the first gun (we use a horn) at 1300 hours (that's 1:00pm for landlubbers)

· May 29th Makani Fest Party at the LMYC starting at 1800 hours (again, that's 6:00pm for landlubbers)

· July 2nd Independence Day Family Picnic

· July 3rd Marine Base Regatta

· July 5th Summer Youth Sailing Program begins

· July 23rd Mutiny Regatta

· August 5th Summer Youth Sailing Program ends

· August 13th Jack Robertson Cruising Day

· Sept 4th Commodore’s Cup Regatta and Party following the racing

· Oct 15th Finish Line Party (alternate date Oct. 22nd)

· Nov 20th Awards Brunch

We also plan to run our ever popular Summer Youth Sailing Program which provides an opportunity for boys and girls ages 10 and up to learn to sail. The program will run from July 5, 2011 to August 5, 2011. There will be level 1, 2 and 3 classes.
