The LMYC is looking better than ever. The buoy room and the hoists are sporting fresh coats of paint and enthusiasm abounds. Our first official day for racing was May 17 followed by the Gabor Cup Regatta and a “Jimmy Buffet” Party on May 24. A full report will follow in the July Papoose. Regular racing will continue with a 1:00 pm start on every Sunday into October.

As was previously announced, Snipe Sunset Sailing takes place on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month through September 23. Races start at 6:30 PM and are open to all LMCC members (adults and children over 12) who would like to get involved in sailing, learn to crew or already enjoy sailing and are looking for an opportunity to participate in fun races.

Our annual Independence Day Family Picnic will be on July 4, to coincide with the firework display and on the following day, July 5, we will hold another open event, the Marine Base Regatta. Registration starts at 12:00 noon and the first gun will be at 1:00 p.m. This event is open to all LMCC members with a sailboat of any kind and trophies for the first three positions will be awarded.
