Our first open event open to all LMCC members, the Gabor Cup Regatta, took place on Sunday, June 3, 2018. John Miller, assisted by Ian Oldridge were our race officials for the event. The wind was out of the NNE allowing for a triangle course with a windward mark near Beach 2. Four Lightnings competed in two races with the boats finishing in the same order in both races. The finishes were close with Rich Miner winning by 11 seconds in the first race and by 8 seconds in race two. The final results as follows:

1st Place: Skipper Rich Miner, crew Gail Miner and Chris Mackey

2nd Place: Skipper Brent Cherry, crew Jim Cherry and another

3rd Place: Skipper Perry Anderson, crew Shirley Miller and Susan Hauck
