Portsmouth Handicap Ratings (PHR). While races were canceled due to unfavorable wind on June 12, we were back on the lake on June 19 with John Miller and Brad Cherry as our officials for the Gabor Cup Regatta. Two races were sailed on an Olympic course in light to moderate wind. John Marx came in first in his Snipe with Rich Miner second in a Lightning and Constance a Gill taking third place in a Snipe. Joe Fleming and Perry Anderson followed in their Lightnings.

On June 25, with Mark Marussich as race official, five boats raced. Rich Miner took first place in a Lightning. John Marx and Tim Mackey came in second and third respectively, sailing Snipes. Joe Fleming was fourth in a Lightning and Haley Chute was a DNF in a Snipe. Our annual Family Barbecue was held on July 4th to coincide with the LMCC fireworks and, our the Marine Base Regatta on July 10. More about those events next month.

The Lake Mohawk Yacht Club Junior Sailing Classes are concluding and once again, we have successfully introduced some young people to our sport and provided them with skills that will last a lifetime.
