This drill teach ball carriers to maintain ball security and keep a low base while maneuvering,
POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Check the ball carrier keeps the ball in a secure position with 5-points of contact and high, tight, no air.
SETUP
Position a group of running backs behind the bottom cone.
EXECUTION
On the coach’s command, the RB sprints 5 yards full speed with the football tucked securely under one arm. After 5 yards, the RB reaches down and puts his free hand on the ground, then rotates 360 degrees, lifts his hand off the ground and sprints 5 more yards repeating the procedure. After the second spin, the RB sprints 10 yards to the last cone.
