Form the huddle 6 Yards from the Line of Scrimmage
------------------------------- Line of Scrimmage------------------------
Coaching points—The objective is to create a rectangular box called the huddle box so that all players in the huddle are able to hear the quarterback’s play call.
The huddle box should be formed approximately six yards from the line of scrimmage as shown so that defensive players cannot hear the play call. The location of the huddle from the line of scrimmage is set by the center. Once the center is in position he calls out “HUDDLE” in a very loud voice and faces away from the line of scrimmage.
Then the linemen lineup on the center as shown facing away from the line of scrimmage with their feet just a few inches apart and in a straight line.
The three running backs line up as shown facing the line of scrimmage separated by less than an arms length apart.
The two offensive ends line up at the ends of the huddle box in a position that is just outside of the LT and RT. Ensure that the ends do not position themselves inside of the left and right tackle.
