Form Running Drill
This drill is designed to help improve players running techniques.
POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Check hip movement
Lift knees high
90 degree angle of the elbows and keep elbows in
Don’t allow the arms to cross into the body
Faster arms will result in faster feet
SETUP
Set up four lines for this running drill
The coach moves backward at a slow pace keeping the runners in front of him—Speed (forward progress) is not a factor in this drill –the object is more foot “reps”.
Run back to the starting point using “butt kicks”
Repeat by doing ”high-skips”—opposite arm/opposite leg
Return to the starting point using longer stride run
