Post Game and Post Practice Recognition Huddle

OBJECTIVE

The post practice and post game huddle gives coaches the opportunity to recognize players in front of their peers and their parents for positive accomplishments and performances in practices and games. It is an essential element of JDL football.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS

• During practices make notes of special effort or positive performance by players.

• Try to find something positive about different players as the season goes by.

• Avoid always calling out the better players at each huddle.

• Encourage players and parents to stay for the few minutes after practices and games to be a part of this special recognition process.

SETUP

Meet with players, their parents and coaches off the field for this special JDL huddle. Make sure your huddle does not interfere with the following game.
