About:

The Railroad brevet route starts from IISc and heads north via Jalahalli, Yelahanka Satellite and Doddaballapur. The ride past Makalidurga Railway Station captures the view of the beautiful Penneru valley all the way till Gauribidanur. Turning There is a short climb en route to Chikaballapura, after which the route heads east to Sidlaghatta and then along the scenic state highway south to Hoskote. After a small detour via the quiet suburbs of Bagalur and Sathanur, the ride back to the end control at IISc is on the Bangalore-Hyderabad expressway.

Surface:

Very well paved roads for the most part, very small sections of bad roads after Hoskote and near Bagalur.

Traffic:

Till Yelahanka, light/medium traffic is expected. After that until Hoskote/Old Madras Road occasional heavy vehicles may be encountered. The return leg on NH7 has fast moving traffic. From Hebbal flyover till the end control, traffic jams and slow moving traffic are expected at late afternoon/evening.
