Brevets (2011-2012)

Brevets are organized to challenge cyclists to their limits of endurance cycling. These form an official recognition for randonneurs, and completion of four brevet rides (200 km to 600 km) in a year is required for qualification in Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP), the historic long distance cycling event held once every four years (next in 2015).

Like all randonneuring events, these are noncompetitive, and each ride has to be completed self-supported within a predetermined time, including passing through intermediate controls.

IISc Randonneurs will be organizing the following brevets, sanctioned by the Audax Club Parisien (ACP), in Bangalore for the 2011-2012 season. Riders may opt for a medal from the ACP for each ride completed successfully. A Super Randonneur medal is also available for completing four rides (200, 300, 400, 600 km) in this season.
