2014 Season

Randonneuring is the sport of long distance endurance cycling. The non-competitive nature of events and the emphasis on self sufficiency distinguish it from other sports. Randonneuring events are timed, and can be over a variety of distances. Brevets are held over distances ranging from 200km to 1000km (and more). Populaires are essentially the same but are run over smaller distances of under 200KM.

A list of events organised by The IISc Randonneurs this season is given below. The randonneuring season runs from November to October next year.

For information on older events, see the Past Events page and the Bangalore Brevets website

ACP Brevets (BRM)

These events are governed by and have been sanctioned by the Audax Club Parisien (ACP). Riders may opt for a medal from the ACP for each ride completed ride. A Super Randonneur medal is also available for completing four rides (200, 300, 400, 600 km) in this season. Completion of these rides will count towards ACP Awards and for qualification for the Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP), held once every four years (next in 2015).

Bangalore Brevets (non-ACP events)

These events are governed by the Club (Bangalore brevets) and not sanctioned by the ACP. These rides count towards club awards, but not towards ACP awards or qualification for the PBP. The format of the events is similar to ACP Brevets.
