Route

Note that this is a challenging route with some sections of steep climbing and descent. Ensure that your equipment is in good repair (especially the brakes), and that you are physically prepared to ride such a route.

Surface: Most of the route is in fairly good condition. From Harohalli to Anchetty the roads are fairy good but have some badly potholed patches. Some of the descents are very sudden and steep, and some of these have silt and sand accumulated at the bottom by rainwater.

There are some steep switchbacks on the final descent to anchetty - care must be taken to limit speed so as to not run off the road.

Traffic: Traffic on Kanakapura road and Hosur Road can be very fast. Please ride carefully. Traffic on the rest of the route is almost non existent, apart from the occasional bus or agricultural vehicle.

Terrain: Here is an approximate elevation profile generated by gpsvisualizer.com (using DEM data), there is about 2152m of climbing. The vertical red lines are approximately at Harohalli (54Km) Thalli (88Km) A village after Jawalagiri (115Km) and Anchetty (126Km).

A GPX of the route can be found in the attachment sections at the end of the page. Note that the GPX is only for reference. The cue-sheet should be used for the exact route.

A map is given alongside for reference. To view in Google Maps click here.

Cue-sheet

A draft cue-sheet is available for reference, along with photos taken along the route.

Registered riders will be given the final cue-sheet at the Start, along with a map.
