The Fourteen Poets 400 is the first BRM in Bangalore Brevets scene to feature a hill climb. Starting from IISc Campus, the ride passes through Hosur, Krishnagiri and Vaniyambadi to reach Vinnamangalam. Then a U turn to reach Yelagiri through Vaniyambadi and a village, Ponneri. The return leg contains a scenic route passing through Pernambut and VenkatagiriKota to Reach Mulbagal from where NH-4 with 4-lanes start and it connects Mulbagal with Bangalore

2/3 of the route is either 4 laned or 6 laned highways. Rest of the route (including 2 climbs) is two laned. The stretch from Vaniyambadi to Ponneri is slightly patchy. Another section from V. Kota to Mulbagal contains small sections of patchy roads. The riders have to negotiate with tiny bursts of non existent roads while passing through some villages and an additional 500 m stretch, in V. Kota - Mulbagal Section, but in overall, the route is completely roadbikable.

Expect heavy traffic even at night on the highways NH 7, NH 46, and NH 4. Traffic will be less in Vaniyambadi - Pernambut section, and rare in other parts of the route..
