Characters

Some characters in the book series just continue to fascinate me, year after year. My favorite character is Luna, and the one I spend the most time analyzing is Dumbledore. And of course, I (like all fans) had to throw in two cents about the Trio and Snape. So here are my character-centric essays!

Lav-Lav the Misunderstood is a deep dive into canon about Lavender Brown, to set the record straight on some confusing questions about one of Jo's favorite name-drop characters. Written in summer 2016.

The Schooldays of Mrs. Black examines the implications of Walburga Black's birth year being 1925 on the Black Family Tree. Written in June 2018.

Minerva McGonagall and the Sorcerer’s Stone considers the question, prompted by a reader writing in, of whether McGonagall was wise to Dumbledore's plans in Sorcerer's Stone, and whether she acted against them. Written in February 2021.

And some characters are so intriguing, they get their own page with multiple essays about them:

Albus Dumbledore

Neville and Luna
