A Few Words from the Curator

Ever since members of our society had once participated in the annual exhibition in 2009 in the newly established club (L602, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre), it has not been another opportunity for our members to showcase their art creations in the community.

For a longer time, the “Hong Kong Modern Ink Painting Society”, which contains the essential elements of the contemporary art, serves as an active force in Hong Kong Chinese Ink Painting domain. For every exhibition, it not only can trigger tremendous attention for the art world in Hong Kong but also receive many of the ink painting enthusiasts’ endorsement and support; however, to maintain such cohesive force, we are strive to continue to seek for opportunities and venues for every similar scale of annually exhibition, notwithstanding to promote Hong Kong Ink Art movement, to unify and to secure for every rights and privileges. This year, we have been invited the elites and the support participants within the organization to agree upon a major Protocol of having “An Annual Exhibition Must be Executed in Hong Kong”.

For the current exhibition, while we are celebrating the accession of new memberships and their participation, we also like to take this opportunity to seek a mutual assessment and encouragement within our members. There are seventeen members to participate in this annual exhibition which include: To Jiwye, Nina Pryde, Ma Kwai Shun, Hong Ngan Ping, Leung Tung Choi, Chan Shing Kau, Chan Kwan Lap, Chan Chak Fai, Chan Yin Wan, Yau Mui Chun, Wong Wai Keung, Yeung Kwok Fan, Koon Wai Bong, Lau Kam Chee, Siu Pak Keung, Chung Lap Kwan and Kan Chi Hung. As each of them shares its own distinctive personal style and perception, yet once again, hereby to report and to disclose on how we can deliver progression and dedications to our entire fellow artists and the majority of the visual arts enthusiasts. Finally we hope our predecessors, colleagues, not stingy enlighten, can commonly presence in an efforts to create a more brilliant tomorrow in the areas of ink painting in Hong Kong.
