Doubles

 General information

The rules for Hudson Legion Doubles Curling are slightly different than the rules for Olympic mixed doubles. Two main differences the players must change position (when they throw) after each end. There is no sweeping between the hog lines. The rules can be seen in the attached file at the bottom of this page.

The one major change for 2018-19 is that we will use the power play as described in the rules at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: the teams are listed at the bottom of the page.

 Latest news and info

The Doubles Championship for 2018-2019 came down to the last rock of the 8th end. Albert/Tomiuk (Bob Cameron substituting for an injured Neil Tomiuk) were up by three coming home however the opposition had three rocks in the house and the take-out to keep the game to at least a tie rubbed a guard letting Langdon/Albert draw for 4 and the win. Congratulations to Bill Langdon and Jeanette Albert.

The Final play-offs for the doubles have been decided. In Leg3 Albert/Tomiuk finished in first place and will play-off against the winners of Leg2 Atkins/Peck. The second place team in Leg3 was Langdon/Albert who were tied in points with Rowland/Dery but since they defeated Rowland/Dery in the last game of the third leg they won and therefore face the winners of Leg1 Spriggs/Halbert. Both games start at 9:30 Friday morning.

The final Leg has only 6 teams so only the TWO top teams will make the play-offs. They will play the winners of Leg1 and Leg2.

The first leg of the 2018 -2019 Doubles competition is over and Derek Halbert and John Spriggs have defeated all-comers for this draw. The Second Leg of the 2018-2019 Doubles competition has been finalized and the Team of Bill Atkins and Ian Peck took the top spot. Cam Jobin and Fred Albert made a valiant effort right to the end, but it was not to be. (Bob Cameron filled in during the play-offs). Congratulations !!!

 Congratulations !!

Their team will stay together for the next two legs. If they win all three legs it will be a clean sweep, however new teams will be put together to test them. The winners of all three legs will have a play-off in the spring to determine the over-all winner. Once again Congratulations.
