Neogalactic Period

Part of the Mesoproteimeran Era

Eogalactic Period - Neogalactic Period - Nephelean Period

The Neogalactic Period is the second, and final, period of the Mesoproteimeran Era and the fourth period of the Proteimeran Eon. The Neogalactic begins with the formation of the Milky Way Galaxy - marking a shift in the scope of the timescale from the universe to the Milky Way - and ends with the solar nebula becoming a closed system with respect to the Giant Molecular Cloud - marking a shift in the scope of the timescale from the Milky Way to the solar system. Throughout this period, the galaxy would continue to assemble itself into its current form.

The most distant known galaxy from Earth, z8_GND_5296, is seen from a distance of 30 billion light years away as it was approximately 700 million years after the Big Bang in the earler part of the Neogalactic.

The Neogalactic is not further subdivided into epochs.
