Part of the Mercurial Geologic Timescale
Pretolstojan Period - Tolstojan Period - Calorian Period
The Tolstojan Period is the second period of the Mercurial Geologic Timescale. The Tolstojan saw similar conditions to the later part of the Pretolstojan Period that preceded it, as the Late Heavy Bombardment continued throughout the period, terrorizing the inner solar system and creating several basins across the planet. The most notable structure created in this period is the Goya Formation, a crater with an eighty-three mile diameter. Many of the planet's smaller basins were formed during the Tolstojan, and the process of forming plains materials that had begun during the Pretolstojan coninued throughout the period.
The Tolstojan is not further subdivided into epochs.
