O'Malley, J.M. & Chamot, A.U. (1990:199) list the following learning strategies:

    • Keyword method

    • Elaboration

    • Transfer

    • Inferencing

    • Note taking

    • Summarizing

    • Recombination

    • Translation.

And they list the following cognitive strategies:

    • Resourcing

    • Repetition

    • Grouping

    • Deduction

    • Imagery

    • Auditory representation

    • Elaboration

    • Transfer

    • Inferencing
