straight related does not occur in The New Model Corpus (114m words). It tells us that closely (256) and directly (223) are the only two adverbs occuring directly before related more than 100 times. There are plenty of other -ly candidates, reasonably (36) being the next most frequent.
The corpus also tells us that the preposition following related is to and that the always precedes a country's language.
