Activity Programme 1999(synthesis)

INTERNATIONALIZATION-GLOBALIZATION-VIRTUALIZATION

Transylvania Business Center was established in 1992, considered the year of local recognition, through the concern and effort of 23 donor firms. The 7 years of succes in promoting local business were defined as: 1993-the year of regional recognition, 1994-the year of national recognition,1995-the year of European recognition, 1996-the year of international recognition, 1997-the year of direct communications, 1998-the year of Transylvanian Guilds. The year 1999 has been declared:

THE YEAR OF DIRECT CONNECTIONS.

Even since the first four months of this year, the globalization process of over one thousand associated companies continued. In the same time, there are registered progresses in the activities- decentralization and in offering punctual services to each member firm, through the 25 developement programmes and within the 7 Transylvanian Guilds.

The First Transylvanian Electronic Market will be developed, connecting the majority of member companies to e-CAT (The Electronic Business Center of Transylvania), creating more business opportunities and eficient modalities of promotion the member companies.

The CAT programmes will be developed in a PHYSICAL as well as in a VIRTUAL plan, to increase the chances of our companies in the field of international partnership and to handle the growing of competition in the conditions of the economic crisis.

The decentralized assistance and consultance will be various and accorded punctualy to each member’s request. The “business-to-business” concept will connect our members “on line” via the INTERNET. In the same time, the associated companies will be promoted and served through the programmes: InfoCAT, CAT Common Market, DebloCAT, International Partnership, CATravel, SPECAT-LBC, Transylvania Investment Forum, CATraining and Consulting, CATexpert, Business Links, CAT Centres in counties, CATclub, JobCAT, CAT Messenger-Newsletter, CAT History, as well as other that will be proposed by the members of Transylvanian Guilds.

During this year we will insist on the developement of “one-to-one” direct relations between the member firms, as well as between them and the interested companies in our country and abroad. An increasing attention will be given to the relations with the European Commission and donor organisations from UE, Holland, Denmark, USA, Canada as well as other countries interested in developing business programmes in the Transylvanian area through INTERNATIONALIZATION projects and programs.

CAT will continue to sustain local authorities for realizing the project “International Airport- free Zone Cluj-Napoca”, that will connect directly and efficiently our local community with partners from different countries.

The Programme of Action and Budget for 1999 were designed taking into account: the projection of monthly subscriptions and compensations with the CAT member companies; the attracting of external and non-reinbursable assistance, donations, sponsorship, but also generating own funds by each Department and Guild , in the frame of CAT self-supporting policy.

The realization of the Programme of Action for 1999 supposes mobilization, in very difficult social and economic conditions, of funds estimated at 880 millions lei, for our organisations- consolidation. There are in our view an additional descentralized amount of 1,1 billion lei, in the direct administation of our member companies, through specific common programmes proposed by them, or by the Transylvanian Guilds, or by the other CATs from Transylvanian towns.

For the Union of Transylvanian Business Centres, formed of 7 independent centres from: Alba-Iulia, Baia Mare, Bistrita, Brasov, Oradea, Deva, Zalau, there will be designed separated Programmes of Action and Budget, for assuring the developement of horizontal economic co-operation between us and in the benefit of the over 1000 associated companies.

The Programme of Action and Budget for 1999 were debated in the Direction Comittee and there are at the disposal of our members at the Administration Department. The documents will be submissed to the aprooval of the General Assembly on 20 May 1999.
