You have reached the information page for the cricket club currently known as the Easton Cowboys.
We are now reimagining ourselves, & by Halloween we'll have an original identity, have no fear.
Meanwhile, true to our roots in Easton, BS5, we remain an entirely self run, voluntary organisation that enjoys recreation & socialising, & believes passionately in generating an environment in which every individual may feel welcome & free to be, develop, heal & realise themselves.
We value amity, compassion, responsibility, spirit, cooperation, inclusivity & tolerance, & try to play our cricket in corresponding style.
Our club cherishes universal liberties, originality & diversity, & believes in equivalent respect for the worth & dignity of every person involved, regardless of any differentiating characteristic.
We currently play weekend cricket on both days, run regular friendly matches & meet on Tuesday evenings weekly to train & welcome potential new players.
Our 2019 Saturday XI plays in Division 11 of the Bristol & District Cricket Association & has recently found a new home at the Bristol Civil Service Ground, based on Filton Avenue, near the top of Muller Road. BS7 0AT. Maplink.
Our 2019 Sunday XI plays in Division 3 of the North Somerset Cricket League & now also plays some of its home games at BCSG & the rest at the Rose Green Centre, shared with Bristol West Indies Phoenix CC at 65, Gordon Road, Whitehall, Bristol. BS5 7DR. Maplink.
Both venues come equipped with a bar, kitchen, social & meeting facilities & local character, & at Rose Green we have outdoor nets & a recreational space we use for training on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer.
We'll be aiming to run pre-season intraclub & interclub games then league & friendly cricket, midweek evenings & all day long at the weekends next season, but we live & die according to the commitment of our members. & we're a recreational & social club at heart. We run an annual awards celebration in the autumn, meet regularly throughout the season & biannually for general meetings, but we'll be away at Miserden on our annual cricket escape in mid September & an intrepid squad is heading for Spain next spring. In past years we've enjoyed touring far & wide, & participating in cricket festivals beyond counting; we've run local quiz & curry nights, organised local Rage in the Cage tournaments, managed our own fantasy cricket league, helped integrate refugees into our community & made fools of ourselves on a regular basis; you can get a taste below.
If you fancy genuine participation in a cricket club & realising your wildest dreams, come along to one of our remaining games or to Rose Green any Tuesday evening, from 5.30 until dark, until early September, where there'll be someone to welcome you into the club & help get you settled in.
After September, watch this space, the plan is to have some regular winter nets lined up for the off season.
