Project Closing
Project Closing is carried out when a project has completed or is being transitioned from one project manager to another.
Project Closing report
In this task you will learn how to close a project. You should take activities in Task 3a and Task 3b as you prepare your Project Closing Report.
A project closure report generally includes the following information
Project Status
Report on Schedule, Budget, Scope and Quality.
For Schedule, report on Planned Schedule, Accomplishments by milestone and items that remain. If end of the project then all items defined in WBS should be completed.
For Budget, report on expended budget remaining budget. Specifically use the EV system and report on SV, CV, SPI and CPI for each milestone.
For Scope, report on modules that have been developed and that remain to be developed.
For Quality, inspect your risk register and document controls for risks that impact product quality. Reinforce these under lessons learned topic of your project closing report.
Risks mitigated
Document risks you found while executing the project. Also document controls you recommended (or acted on) to manage these risks.
Lessons Learned
Enumerate do's and don't's for this project. This information can be used by project managers working on similar projects in the future. In cases, where project is midway, this will act as guidance for project manager that will manage the project for remaining duration.
A sample project report is provided for your reference.
360 Evaluation
In this task you will rate yourself and team members. Using "360EvalIndividual.xls" in attachment, each team member should provide a rating for themselves and team members. Individual spreadsheets can be uploaded in Project Notebook folder under Task 4.
Next, take the individual output and aggregate the results in "360EvalGroup.xls" (provided in attachment). Upload the results in the final deliverable folder.
