The following notes are from Wind Shinsanto's (Dr. Jensen's second wife) talk on the native American prophecies of Black Elk the night of July 3rd.
"purpose of firesides it to reach out to those who want or are attracted to this message. Baha'is do not argue about teachings."
Fireside opened with a prayer from Abdu'l-Baha
The Vision of Black Elk
Some Rainbow Gathering Background:
- 1st gathering in 1972 Cable Mountain, CO
- Many young people inspired by '60s now we call them elders because they have come here from the beginning, some are Vietnam Veterans.
- inspired by the Peace Movement and personal visions, which is for them to tell, such as Chuck Wingsong, Barry Adams, and others
- some of the individuals have alot of spiritual momentum behind them
- sometimes when people hear the voice of spirit they get their own personal interpretations mixed in with what Spirit is trying to tell them. "so the stuff about anticipating UFO's didn't happen, But the stuff of the birth of the family of Love has happened. We have love and that love goes out to the world to attract more people" [ Spirit, is an "angel" that has been seen or heard by many Rainbows, in this sense it is akin to the Holy Spirit in Christianity the religious background of most Rainbows ]
- Elders gathering in the wilderness 40 years, 12 tribes looking for a spiritual homeland has to start here and go out.
- About Black Elk's background: descended from line of Sioux-Lakota Medicine family. When 9yo went into a coma for a week, family thought he had died at one point, laid very still. Had a vision where he met with 6 Grand Fathers in a Rainbow Tent.
- quotes pg. 29, Black Elk Speaks, when many little voices speak, one power in the people from the end.
- Healing Circle of Family like Hoops in Vision: "a circle of spirit and energy that we create when we gather and this is a circle of love. And that circle is powerful enough if we have faith in what were doing. That includes having faith in the whole council process." "We need to have faith in that circle council. That circle of love is what pushes out fear, it pushes out out violence. Love is stronger then fear, love is stronger then violence It's the strongest power." Wind then quotes `Abdu'l-Baha: "love is the force that holds the proton and electron together."
- love is strong enough to push out the feds [the Federal Government has historically interfered with the Rainbow Gatherings, although that policy has changed since Obama came to office]
- some prophetic details, 4 horsemen of the 4 directions that carry the 4 holy symbols of the Lakota.
- A Good nation, Spirit inspires Wind to share details of the going out of the Good nation.
- A Voice tells Black Elk: "Behold a sacred nation walking in a sacred manner in a good land."
- Babylon [the outside industrialized world] has become de-natured, if you stay close to God's creation you become humble. Babylonians are full of ego: "I'm so great" Babylon is not spiritual.
- 4 Ascents of Black Elk prophecy occurs in 4 10 year segments for Rainbow purposes. "Scripture doesn't just mean one thing, certainly it means something personal to the prophet, but it has many meanings. Baha'i Teachings is that scripture has 72 meanings. There's a meaning that applies to the Baha'i Faith, there's a meaning that applies to the Rainbow Family.
- 1st ascent, all the land was green (1972), sky was filled with clouds of baby faces [future generations] Black Elk: "at the end of the first ascent we camped, and in the center of the circle stood a Holy Tree, a living tree. This is related in the Bible as the Tree of Life in Eden protected by a flaming sword. Book of Revelation, the Tree of LIfe's leaves are used for the healing of the nations, the Rainbow nation is one of these. Rainbow has covenant symbolism.
- Rainbow family fulfills a covenant, a promise made: "This covenant is the promise of God gave to the First Nations or Native Americans, that children of the White Men would come similar to the name of the Hopi. Rainbows are known as "Hippies". They would adopt indigenous ways and grow close to the earth again. "When the planet is sick and dying a new tribe will come and heal the land, these will be called the Rainbow Warriors. They will have a purpose to bring the message to the rest of the people. They will bring a teaching for the healing of nations: LOVE."
