General invitation to the scattered sheep of Joseph to come to meet the Prophet of the Lord

at Cottonwood, and wished to remain (incog.) till next spring. But Bro. Smith's interview took place before the revelations quoted in the letter from Idaho were given. We cannot judge correctly of the future movements of the Almighty. Bro. Smith tells the following anecdote which singularly corroborates what I have written on my first sheet. He states that he visited the Prophet (incog.). During the interview the Prophet put his hand on Smith's head and felt it Phrenologically and told him that he was a High Priest. That on another occasion Niel Beck visited him in a similar manner and was informed in the same way that he was an Aaronic Priest. The Prophet says that Joseph was inspired to know mens birthrights, but that, in future, all will know by science, and that not a single descendant of Cain will be permitted to enter the Church. Bro. Smith received the idea, also that a brilliant mission of preaching the Fulness of the Gospel during the period of about 20 years will take place before the coming of Moses and Christ in the clouds of Heaven.
