Change and the Birth of a new Religious Tradition

Practical studies in religious synchreticism and how localized experiences and tribal myths in multi-cultural societies become integrated into a new spiritual orientation [pigeon religion], how children of the colonials and the descendants, myths and localized experiences of the indigenous become the basis for new ethical beliefs and spiritual traditions. With Rainbow Baha'is you have three angles of convergence:

• 1. endogenous Judeo-Christianity and some pre-Christian European pagan myths

  2. Indigenous beliefs localized to the environment people are living in

  3. Eastern Islamic esotericism brought in by refugees and missionaries from the East (Persia).

Over the years I have learned that one cannot seperate the teachings of Dr. Leland Jensen from the cultural phenomena of the Rainbow Gathering of the Family of Living Light an intentional spiritual community that also incorporates elements of various "anarchistic" sub-cultures, from road dawgs to Eco Warriors. This section contains studies documenting the life of a rainbow, the mythologies [myths can be real] behind their beliefs, the communal processes and social structure as well as relating it to the teachings of Dr. Leland Jensen. I have not met many followers of Dr. Jensen's Teachings that did not enter through the Rainbow Gathering, which is where I also first encountered them in Wyoming in 2008.
