Module 5 Goals

Module 5 explains how to gather information about children’s development through observation and assessment of children in their natural environments. In this online module, CASAs will be introduced to screening tools.

Learning Objectives

After completing Module 5, CASAs will be able to:

• Understand the importance of observations in children’s natural environments

• Utilize observation as a screening tool

• Support and recognize children’s multiple relationships while making observations

• Make an appropriate and accurate recommendation to services and therapeutic interventions

• Included at the end of this Module is specific information on the Departments and Agencies that you will interact with and make referrals to based on your observations and gathering of information.
