Early Childhood Training Program Instructions
The CASA of Los Angeles Early Childhood Training Program consists of six training modules designed to increase understanding of development in children birth through five years of age.
General Instructions: The Introduction, Module 1, 3 and 5 are to be completed online. Module 2, 4 and 6 are in-person trainings. There are two ways to access the Modules on this website:
1) Click Modules on the sidebar of this website and click "Begin" under the Module you want, or
2) Under the Modules section on the sidebar of this website and directly click the Module you want
Module 2, 4, 6 on this website contain supplemental handouts.
If needed, below are specific instructions on how to access and go through each Module.
Introduction Instructions
Start the Early Childhood Training Program with Introduction: CASA/LA Early Childhood Training Program.
Click "Introduction" located on the sidebar of this website or the "Begin" button under "Introduction" on the Modules page.
After you have finished going through the introduction, begin Module 1: Development of Children Birth through Five Years old. This is the first online module of the program. It is set up in an easy-to-use manner.
Module 1 Instructions
To begin, click "Module 1" located on the sidebar of this website or the "Begin" button under "Module 1" on the Modules page. You will begin by reading the Module Goals and Learning Objectives.
You will begin Module 1 by reading the Module Goals and Learning Objectives.
Next, click on the button "Go to Module 1 Pre-Survey" at the bottom of the page.
The next page says "Start Module 1 Pre-Survey". By clicking this link, a new page will open to a quick survey about your understanding of the general topics that will be covered in the Module. There are no right or wrong answers. It is gauge your understanding of subjects before you go through Module 1. It is important you complete the pre-survey.
After you click "Done", your Module 1 Pre-Survey has been submitted.
Return to the Module 1 screen and click "Begin Module 1". You can now begin Module 1!
To go through the content click "Continue" to the next page. There is no time limit you can spend on each page. Take as long as you need.
When you reach "Module 1 Post-Survey" you have finished the Module 1 content. Click the link and take the post-survey to reflect on the knowledge you have gained, as well as give your feedback about the Module. It is important that you complete the post-survey.
Please complete Module 1 before Module 2 In-person Training. (For the entire Training Schedule, click here).
Module 2 Instructions
Module 2 is an in-person workshop which focuses on expanding understanding of advanced topics and practical application of concepts learned from online Module 1. It will include the presentation of material, group activities, and question and answer periods.

Module 3 Instructions
To begin, click "Module 3" located on the sidebar of this website or the "Begin" button under "Module 3" on the Modules page. You will begin by reading the Module Goals and Learning Objectives.
